Although our travels started in 2007, our fulltime living in our motorhome
actually began in 2006 and our volunteer experiences began in 2005. Below
was our summer home at Little Pines campground on Lake Hinkle, just west of
Waldron, Arkansas. This was our second year as camp hosts for the Forest
Service.
Come on in and have a look. We will periodically update the travel pages to
keep family and friends advised of our location and activities. Our "On the
Road!" pages will show our current travels. We have also included some
pictures from our previous travels. Click on any photos in this web site for a
larger imagae. Some will full screen with a second click. We hope you enjoy
your visit.

We started 2009 waiting not so patiently for the arrival or
our first grandson. Aaron was born on January 20th. After
his arrival, we traveled south and spent the next three
months at Laguna Atascosa National Wildlife Refuge in
south Texas. In mid April, we started north again with a trip
through Arkansas, then it was on to Alaska for the
summer. Along with sightseeing throughout the state, we
also volunteered at Tetlin National Wildlife Refuge near
Tok, Ak. For more on our 2009 travels, see our
2009
Alaska Bound page.

We started our volunteer year with a return to Laguna Atascosa NWR in southern Texas. From there, we returned to
Lassen Volcanic National Park. We arrived in early May and were greeted by regular snowfall for the remainder of the
month and into June! We wound up the year at Big Bend National Park in southwest Texas. Quite a change from
Lassen! Left hand photo is our site at Lassen, right hand is the view from our site at Big Bend (Castolon area).
For the summer of 2011, we headed to the Northeast. We
were originally scheduled to volunteer at the Mississquoi
NWR in extreme northern Vermont. Flooding on Lake
Champlain changed those plans due to water issues at the
refuge. We ended up with a temporary stop over to
volunteer at the White River National Fish Hatchery outside
of Bethel, Vt. This turned into a permanent stop for the
summer due to the flooding problems at Mississquoi.
